Me, Myself and I
(A little history which might interest you)...After finishing a foundation course in fashion design some time ago I realised the significance of understanding the history of clothing and the social implications, which govern the direction fashion takes.
I decided at this point not to go to university but instead managed to obtain a job as a costumier for Angels the Costumiers. Angels houses the largest collection of costumes in the world and caters for film, TV and theatre productions the world over. It was here that I first became fascinated by the beauty and simultaneous extreme masculinity of armour, which was to become the inspiration for much of my later work.
This led to numerous freelance positions, working as a costume maker, stylist and researcher for many feature films such as Batman Begins and Tomb Raider 2, TV productions such as Peep Show and other unusual projects, including designing space suits for Virgin Galactic.
In 2003, with all this lovely experience in tow, and safe in the knowledge that I knew exactly what I did not know and therefore what I needed to learn, I enrolled in a degree course in Menswear Fashion Design at the University of Westminster.
After completing my degree in 2006 I knew I wanted to set up my own fashion label, having assisted several designers in my career it had become clear to me that one designer working for another designer always includes an element of clashing creativity, and therefore a compromise of ideas that I was not willing or able to accept.
